It's well made with popular actors (Michael B Jordan, Jamie Foxx, Brie Larson), and reviews are decent, so it could very well win the People's Choice Award at TIFF, which often goes to crowdpleasers. And unlike Green Book, it won't face the criticism of focusing on the white character and sidelining the African American character (it's more like Hidden Figures in that regard of focusing on the African American charcaters). And presumably the lead actor, director, and writer won't be caught saying the n word or being exposed for past poor behavior. This could do quite well and end up with a handful of Oscar nominations, because most people can get on board with it.

The new movie about him, on the other hand, is nothing that radical. Just Mercy follows the activist movie formula with few major missteps, but also precious few surprises. Michael B. Jordan leads the cast as a young Bryan, recently out of law school and newly arrived in Alabama to start the (still active) Equal Justice Initiative. In his first visit to the local prison, Bryan meets a death-row inmate named Walter "Johnny D. " McMillian (Jamie Foxx), who was convicted of murdering a white woman based on flimsy eyewitness testimony, and makes it his mission to set things right for McMillian and others like him. Even fictional superheroes tend to get more shading than Bryan does here. Just Mercy does not shy away from the unbalanced horrors of the American justice system, or the overwhelming and frequently dangerous forces keeping this system in place. We see all too well how racism makes black men like McMillian "guilty from the moment you're born, " as he puts it, and allows white people the illusion of security at the expense of black lives. We hear horror stories of bigoted cops and corrupt officials and incompetent defense attorneys, and watch as Bryan himself is humiliated, harassed, and threatened on the job. He even bears witness to the execution of a Vietnam vet with PTSD (Rob Morgan, heartbreaking). But Just Mercy is a film about hope, not despair, and director Daniel Destin Cretton balances these harsh truths with moments of humor and grace. He backs away to allow a character a measure of privacy and dignity in the last minutes before his execution, or stays on an EJI colleague (Brie Larson) as she moves past a bomb scare with a shaky but determined smirk. ("Maybe they'll stop trying to kill us once they realize how charming we are, " she quips to Bryan. ) As a character, Bryan is defined by his extreme empathy. He makes an effort to see everyone around him as a person, resisting the temptation to cast them into easy roles like hero or villain, victim or perpetrator, and it's disarming enough to win over even some of his doubters. If Bryan is a "real-life superhero, " as Jordan described him in a post-screening Q&A, this is his superpower. One only wishes the film had such insight into its own characters — they're too rarely allowed to come across as flawed, complicated, or even particularly unique. Even fictional superheroes tend to get more shading than the script, by Cretton and Andrew Lanham, allows Bryan here; he's so singleminded that we get little sense of who he is outside his job, and so unimpeachably moral that he comes off less like a person than an aspirational concept. Jordan is nevertheless able to bring some depth to the character, tracing his arc from a softer, greener idealism to a tougher, more durable one with subtlety and soulfulness. He is well-matched by Foxx in a slightly showier role as McMillian, who understands exactly how risky and hard-won hope is in circumstances like his. Each gets a monologue that seems tailor-made to win over awards voters, and even garnered applause at the opening-night show I attended. There's no doubt that Just Mercy 's heart is in the right place, and it's made skillfully enough to push all the right buttons: joy, sorrow, a lingering sense of righteous fury. The final scenes make clear how much work there is still for Stevenson and other like-minded activists to do, and if it helps push forward the conversation on how we treat the marginalized and the condemned in America, it'll have done more good than most movies. As a work of cinema, though, Just Mercy is a curiously restrained piece. It's missing the visionary spark that drove the real Stevenson to accomplish such great things in the first place.

The Dragon Kings then hosted a huge celebration. After Nezha had committed suicide to return his body to his parents, he appeared in his mother's dream. In the dream, he asked her to build a temple for him, so that his soul would have a place to rest. This constitutes a link to Nezha's birth because the night before Nezha was born, Lady Yin had a dream where a Taoist put something into her bosom and told her to take this child. For both incidences, a dream was used to communicate a message. His mother then secretly built a temple for Nezha and this temple later flourished. This temple became very well known and grew vastly because Nezha granted miracle cures to the sick and the crippled. However, Li Jing soon found out about this temple and burnt it down because he was still angry at Nezha and felt that he had already caused too much trouble for their family. Li Jing burning the temple caused Nezha to desire his father's death. Thus, enmity between father and son grew. Nezha was later brought back to life by his teacher, Taiyi Zhenren, who used lotus roots to construct a human body for his soul and gave him two new weapons: the Wind Fire Wheels ( 風火輪) and the Fire-tipped Spear ( 火尖槍). With the reincarnation of Nezha by his master, Li Jing and Nezha fought many battles. However, Li Jing soon realized that his mortal body was no match for Nezha and so he ran for his life. Ne Zha is a second generation from a rich and high rank Chinese army family( a family of the army leader parents in Chentang in the movie. His parents are very busy with their career( have no time to play with Ne Zha in the movie) have no time to be with their child, and take all their child's mistakes to be their responsibilities( hardly punish Ne Zha in a traditional Chinese way but isolate him in the movie, the father even plans to die for saving his son's life in the movie.
Ao Bing is a nice young man from a far more traditional Chinese village( dragons in the bottom of the sea in the movie. The village and villagers have been mistreated in the fast Chinese economic growth and left behind wounded( dragons have all been cursed at the bottom of the sea and have no power to escape in the movie. Ao Bing has a huge expectations from his father and master and tries to take their expects to climb up to the top of the social pyramid.
The villagers' fear, hatred and prejudice to Ne Zha symbolised the public's fear to the new generation of Chinese new elites especially from an army background family. The Chinese thought those new elites had sin before their born. The sin has not been discussed clearly in the movie but is well known to the public. The sin is power, wealth and privilege in the Chinese society.
Ne Zha and Ao Bing could also have been seen as two sides of China. They are like Yin and Yang in the Bagua. Both Ne Zha and Ao Bing have evilness and goodness inside them. The collaboration of Ne Zha and Ao Bing indicated a harmony to society.
The discourse in the movie is not political correctness like a lot of audiences outside China would think. "No one but yourself could decide who you are" is a common rebellion idea to Chinese in its social revolutions and political movements. Download free gorillaz: reject false icons video. Reject False Icons is a film which is a real treat for fans of Gorillaz. In short, the film covers the making of "Humanz" and "The Now Now" while their Humanz Tour took place during 2017 and 2018. The entire film is shot in black/white, with some exceptions here and there. It gives a nice touch.
The film itself does not have any commentary or offers any, and as such, the movie goes on in showing highlights of their tour and composing of the albums. It's really interesting to see how Damon and Jamie have worked a lot the past 20 years on Gorillaz, and if I am honest, the movie sparkled the light and made me remember why I love Gorillaz in the first place.
The band has become from a 3 man team to a full-fledged 100+ family. Gorillaz has become such a diverse band and has a criminal record of collaborations around the world. During the clips you saw while the album Humanz was made, you could see and feel the excitement of the entire team during production. They were on fire, had passion, and made the thing as good as it can be. It's a bunch of people working on new projects, while the hyperrealistic nature of the 4 characters is always put first. The band is one of the best that are out there and just started after 2 people sat on a couch and said "Let's make a band" intending to criticise the music industry with each of the characters resembling an oversaturation of a tribe.
The film included a lot of live performances from various albums and paid tribute to Ibrahim Ferrer (Latin Simone, also known for Buena Vista Social Club in Kuba. Bobby Womack (Stylo) which was one of the best moments in the film. It showed respects to so many talented people, everyone was treated equally and shown in the film at least thrice. There were a lot of unique artists being on stage and behind the scenes.
The film had some honourable mentions, including:

• Damon sneezing on-stage, never happened to him once.
• Him visiting a musical group which made their instruments out of reusable material, and got handed a custom made violin
• Him screaming into the camera like a madman and playing a banana like a saxophone afterwards
• The Now Now took only 5 weeks and was recorded during the break of the Humanz tour

As of their tour, they have performed 96 times over 2 years and played music as high as over a week worth.

But Reject False Icons, after Ceri Levy’s Bananaz from 2008, is the second “behind the scenes” documentary. It’s telling: Murdoc, 2D, Noodle and Russel have slowly been overwhelmed in the course of the project’s two-decade history by its operational reality – which now verges on, as this film points out, 100 contributors. Making up for the fact that illustrator Jamie Hewlett’s gargoyle-ish ensemble are present only in flashy cutaways, his son Denholm gets to prowl behind the scenes on recording sessions for recent back-to-back albums Humanz and The Now Now, and the world tour that Damon Albarn ’s funky omnibus packed in around them. The downside of family involvement is that everything is strictly sanctioned. Albarn jokes in an after-credits scene about the directorial whippersnapper exposing all his “idiosyncrasities”. But they amount here to nothing more than being perpetually on muso cloud nine, orchestrating, among others, Mavis Staples, Little Simz, actor Ben Mendelsohn and one-time nemesis Noel Gallagher in the studio and on stage. Albarn’s capering, grufty mug and gold tooth make him resemble some mixing-desk Steptoe though, generally, he seems a lot happier than the self-regarding figure who sometimes appeared in Britpop documentaries. If there were personality clashes, we don’t see them, nor is there any inquiry into the band’s USP, the relationship between sound and image, or how Albarn corrals his collaborators. Hewlett opts for a nippy edit, never lingering on any vignette or performance. Which stops us savouring any single musical highlight – though Peven Everett, with his lightning-bolt vocals, has an energising effect, a more-than-able deputy for the late Bobby Womack. It’s ironic that the film doesn’t just reject false icons but, to some extent, the band’s cartoon avatars, too; in prioritising Gorillaz meatspace, it inadvertently confirms the marginalisation of the original concept. Still, with Hewlett Jr often chronicling events in cool monochrome, shooting in close proximity if not exactly total intimacy, this snappy scrapbook tips the hat to the infectious creativity of Albarn’s travelling circus. • Gorillaz: Reject False Icons is release on 16 December. • This article was amended on 18 December 2019. I remember, I was 17 years old. A beautiful life lived fully, shared by those closest and dearest to Michael Hutchence and his own personal film collection, thank you to all who shared personal moments in telling his story. Sweet moments shown and a insight into who he was away from the stage - and his love of life. Watched this movie in a room full of silence with the odd tear heard, his brilliance still revered by many, his lyrical genius in writing, an amazing life from bullied teen to loved all over the world then and still now - an extraordinary talented man. The ultimate Rock frontman.  Never forgotten.  Great band too. It's said a great singer is great because they connect with their listener in a way that transcends a simple pitch perfect delivery of the notes. Maybe even that a truth is sent and a truth is felt in return. I knew nothing of this when Michael and INXS first kicked into my life but this film helps me understand why they moved me like so many haven't. The film makers know their art also. It's moving. Better than I ever imagined it could be.

El empresario, que había cenado con Michael la noche anterior y lo había acercado en coche hasta el hotel Ritz Carlton, donde se alojaba, no entendió la pregunta. Fue el periodista, abrumado y pidiendo perdón por lo poco idóneo de la situación, el que le comunicó que su hijo había fallecido asfixiado en su habitación esa misma mañana. Tenía 37 años. Se lo encontró el servicio de habitaciones, tras forzar la puerta. Avisaron a una ambulancia pero no pudieron hacer nada por él. Una exnovia de su juventud y buena amiga, Michelle Bennet, había intentado entrar a la habitación sobre las 10. 00, preocupada porque le había estado llamando esa misma mañana muy deprimido. Sin obtener respuesta, y pensando que se había quedado dormido agotado, le dejó un mensaje en recepción. El líder de INXS también había dejado un mensaje en el contestador de su mánager en EE UU, sobre las nueve: «Ya nada me importa». Los tabloides británicos, los mismos que llevaban meses obsesionados persiguiéndole centrados en cargar moralmente contra su relación con Paula Yates –la presentadora dejó al mismísimo sir Bob Geldof por él–, fueron los que esparcieron el rumor de que Michael Hutchence había muerto por asfixia erótica (también conocida como hipoxifilia) mientras practicaba sexo con otras dos personas. La autopsia confirmaría que no había signos de haber mantenido relaciones sexuales y que todo apuntaba al suicidio. En su cuerpo hallaron rastros de alcohol, prozac y cocaína. Hutchence, según apunta el documental, llevaba desde las 5. 30 pegado al teléfono. Yates le había llamado muy afectada desde Londres porque Geldof, que tenía la custodia de sus dos hijas Pixie y Peaches, no le dejaba llevárselas a Australia a la gira de INXS (Yates y Hutchence tenían una hija en común de 16 meses de edad, Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence). El cantante habló con ella, con Bob Geldof, visiblemente enfadado, y empezó su ronda de llamadas deprimido sin ver una solución aparente a su vida. Con Paula Yates, su última pareja. Con ella tuvo una hija. Tenía 16 meses cuando se suicidó. Yates fallecería por sobredosis tres años después.  Foto: Getty Además de desterrar definitivamente las teorías sobre su muerte, Mistify abre una puerta a una nueva hipótesis sobre el declive emocional del artista, que además llevó en secreto hasta su muerte. En 1992, en Copenhague, sufrió un accidente de bici que le causó un daño cerebral irreparable. Un taxista lo atropelló mientras iba a buscar una pizza con la que por entonces era su pareja, Helena Christensen. «Se quedó inconsciente en el suelo y le salió sangre por la boca y el oído. Pensé que había muerto. Cuando despertó en el hospital se puso tan violento que los enfermeros le dejaron irse sin hacerse más pruebas», apunta la supermodelo en el film. Las secuelas le llevaron a una especie de bipolaridad emocional, según expresan prácticamente todos sus compañeros de banda y entorno más cercano, en el que se incluyen declaraciones de Bono, amigo y vecino de su casa de veraneo en Roquefort Les Pins, al sur de Francia: «Me confesó que después de ese accidente todo cambió para él. Le llevó a tener muchas inseguridades y se olvidó de quien era». Hutchence reveló en varias entrevistas que su accidente le había hecho darse cuenta «de lo que es importante», pero nunca contó el diagnóstico de un neurocirujano en París al mes del accidente: que tenía el cráneo y nervios dañados de forma irreparable y que iba a perder de forma total el olfato y el gusto. «Dejó de ser el Michael que conocíamos», cuenta Kirk Pengilly, guitarrista de INXS: «Algunas veces tenías al Michael normal y otros días era un tío violento y molesto. Era bipolar, errático y también lo empezó a ser en lo musical». El documental muestra, tres meses después del accidente, al propio Hutchence perdiendo el hilo de su discurso en una entrevista en televisión en reiteradas ocasiones. Nadie, más allá de Helena Christensen –que presionó por la visita médica «tras pasarse un mes tirado en mi casa sin dejar de vomitar»– supo sobre las secuelas de ese accidente. Su entorno pensó que la deriva emocional venía dada por la presión de la prensa con su última relación sentimental y por la sensación de inseguridad musical que Hutchence tenía frente a fenómenos como U2. Tampoco fue el mismo después de que Liam Gallagher lo humillase en su cara en los Brit Awards de 1996. «Has-beens shouldn’t be presenting to gonna bes” («Los que pasaron de moda no deberían presentar a los nuevos»), dijo justo después de que el líder de INXS le entregase el premio al mejor videoclip por Wonderwall. Familiares, amigas y amantes loan la figura de un conquistador que, pese a ese recuerdo de llevar pantalones excesivamente apretados y torso descubierto perenne, se salió por la tangente de la masculinidad hegemónica y mostró una sensibilidad por el placer de los sentidos fuera de la norma. Hutchence no temía llorar o mostrarse sensible en entrevistas y detestaba esa caricatura de playboy que todos proyectaban sobre él –hasta llegó a cortarse la melena y aparecer con gafas en una etapa en la que lanzó en un proyecto en solitario para huir de ese arquetipo–. Tal y como insisten una y otra vez sus parejas en la cinta, su espíritu vital, su ensoñación continua, era contagiosa. «Amaba a las mujeres, pero tenía ese compromiso interior de dedicarse a la que quería de verdad», cuenta Christensen. «Sexo, drogas, viajes, libros, amor. Lo quería experimentar todo. Seamos honestos: todo lo que nos rodeaba iba sobre el placer «, apunta Kylie Minogue. La prensa australiana se obsesionó con el romance de la estrella del rock con la joven ingenua. «Tenía una curiosidad insaciable. En el Reino Unido hay una mentalidad abusona y bastante misógina. Todo esto da mucho miedo «, repetía. Entonces se refugiaba en su hogar con Yates y ambos se hinchaban a antidepresivos. El día de su entierro, el 27 de noviembre, la ceremonia fue retransmitida en directo desde la catedral San Andrés. Nick Cave cantó Into my arms   y Paula Yates repartió sus cenizas entre ella misma, sus familiares y miembros del grupo. Ella moriría por sobredosis de heroína en el año 2000. Bob Geldof se hizo cargo de la custodia de Tiger Lily. La hija del líder de INXS, que ahora tiene 22 años, ha visto el documental. The night he died I listened to his music all night long... I had a friend over at my place and she was in shock because she knew I had it on all night long, and when the news came on in the morning saying he had passed, I thought I was dreaming it... So sad, Michael Hutchence was my dream man... I still miss him. I love Michael Hutchence as a musical artist and had read his biography "Lost boy of INXS" by his sister, Tina, which was an excellent read. Unfortunately for me, this documentary fell very short of expectations. We don't actually get to see or hear a lot of Michael, other than what's already out there on YouTube etc, and the editing was extremely choppy and disjointed. Sound quality was very bad too, with alternate scenes of closed captions and non-closed captions. I'm not old or deaf, but would have appreciated clarity on the muffled voice over.
